Finger on the pulse, and the calculator is always somewhere on my desk. It’s the numbers game, you see. It has to be if you’re running your own business.
And it’s really great if you’ve got the right tools of trade. I work from home. Maybe you are too. So then, you could relate. All I need is my laptop and my mobile. And then there’s a smattering of apps I’m using, all relevant to my business. I hat clutter. It’s messy. It confuses the issue. I don’t need a pizza delivery app.
I enjoy the rush of heading off downtown to fetch my own, hot pizza, you see. And that’s what I’m about to do once this post is done and dusted. My Instagram app is just about ready and waiting for me. Once I’ve finished editing this post, it will be published via Instagram. And it’s going out to other networks too. It’s all linked, you see. It’s called widening your reach. I want to expose myself to as many people as possible. While I’m doing that, I’ve got another 100 Insta followers in the bag.
But then it’s going to stay that way for a while.
You see, I don’t want real followers getting the wrong impression about me. And yes, that’s another thing, for every 10 Insta followers I might buy, I can be sure I’m going to gain at least one real follower. And, who knows, maybe another client in the bag. Of course, I don’t pin my hopes on that. The numbers game is good. It does work, but not all of the time. It’s not the fault of my service provider. And it’s definitely not my fault. You see, while people are perceptive, they’re also quite picky.
And I get that. The times they might be changing and all, but they’re also pretty hard. People just don’t have the kind of money they used to. Now all they have left over is real money. I like that. I finally learnt my lesson. Cash is king. Long live the king. I might still have a few debts to settle but at least I’m starting to live comfortably again. This time it’s for real. I’m living the way I like out of my own pocket. Money I made all by myself. I’m pretty proud of my record so far. It wasn’t always that way.
I started out before Instagram arrived. Fortunately, I did have Facebook. That was a start.
Today, of course, Instagram is my main marketing platform. I’ve got a WordPress blog up and running too. And it’s all linked. For every 100 Insta followers or Insta likes that I gain, it reflects positively on my Facebook page and my WP blog to. Keep your focus on the numbers game. Make sure you budget regularly. And don’t ever forget to monitor the numbers on your social media platforms. Show the world who’s the boss. Show them that you mean business.
